The McKeens have been serving the Lord in many ways as they have been working to plant churches in the mountainous area of Quito, Ecuador since 2002. Evangelism is one of those ways, and includes one-on-one contact, workshops, puppets, art and drama. Discipleship and leadership training is also important, and involves Bible studies, camps, and teaching in the Berean Bible Institute. During the first term of service, Dan was also active in some building projects for the association of churches there (he’s the president of that group) and was church treasurer in addition to preaching, teaching, visitation, and various aspects of discipleship including men’s and teens’ ministries. The teaching and discipling of men is especially important in church planting because the local churches need to be lead by nationals and have its various ministries supported by true servants who can be a living example and handle God’s Word accurately and respectfully. Diana is active in women’s and children’s ministries, discipleship, and visitation, in addition to being an assistant bookkeeper and secretary.
