6/13/2008 HIGHER LIFE CONFERENCE 2008 WITH PASTOR CHRIS DAY2

TOPIC: The Higher Life.
Tape to listen to: ABA HIGHER LIFE CONFERENCE DAY 2.
Scripture: John 10:10.
Introduction:
Many people think that Jesus brought us religion; but He didn’t come to bring us religion. He didn’t say I come to give them a good religion, He didn’t say I come to give them a better religion; He didn’t say I come to give them the best religion. He said “I have come that they might have life and that they might have it to the full………..”
Jesus brought us a life with: purpose, power and plenty. It is God’s plan for us to enjoy this special kind of live that Jesus brought to us.
TWO KINDS OF DESTINIES
There are two destinies for every human being.
There is the natural destiny and there is the divine destiny. Most people live fulfilling the natural destiny. Natural destiny is guarded, controlled by whatever you do or say, wherever you are born, wherever you grew up, whatever you knew about, everything natural in this world that has to do with you as an individual. Divine destiny is the destiny of God in a man’s life or for a man’s life. It is the course of events organized by God, structured by God in away that will brings Him glory in a man’s life. Divine destiny always end with a man being God’s glory; the expression of God’s grace. Divine destiny is the unveiling of God’s love.
The difference between divine destiny and natural destiny is: who gets to be glorified? Is it Jesus or the man? Until you have that encounter with Jesus, you cannot fulfill divine destiny.
The scriptures tell us that Jacob’s life was changed forever, the day he met with God.
How can you know the purpose of God for your life? How can you locate your purpose in life?
- Understand God’s plan for the world. Mark 1:14 – 15. God’s plan is to set up the kingdom in the hearts of men.
- Understand God’s plan for you. This is to set up His headquarters in you. He wants to be in your life and express Himself in your life. God wants you. He needs you. His job is to set up His operational headquarters in you. From then, you will carry out business for the kingdom. Locate yourself in God’s plan. Hebrews 10:17. Your life has been written by God, your destiny by God has been planned out.
God wants His kingdom to run the world; but it runs in the hearts of men. Your destiny begins when you meet Jesus; and when you accept His purpose for your life; when you become the unveiling of His word, the unveiling of His love, the unveiling of His glory. That spells the beginning of your destiny in God. Then you can enjoy your blessed odyssey in Christ.
Thus saith the Lord: “I raise an army by my Spirit, and I call from them from the north, from the south, from the east, from the west; and as they rise to answer my call my anointing rests upon them. For they shall do the things that I call them to do, a great army for these last days”, saith the Lord. “And now”, saith the Spirit of God, “I work in this city, in this day and in this hour, for a harvest of souls, not only for a harvest, but that which has been done for many years shall now be put together; for a great army is being raised in this land”, saith the Lord. “In this land where there was evil, there shall be laughter, and there shall be joy. Where there was violence, there shall be peace” saith the Lord.

6/12/2008 HIGHER LIFE CONFERENCE
TOPIC: The Higher Life.
Tape to listen to: ABA HIGHER LIFE CONFERENCE DAY 1.
Scripture: John 10:10.
Introduction:
At the recent Aba Higher Life Conference, Pastor Chris spoke about the higher life that is in Christ. A life that is higher than that which most people in this world live.
Jesus came into this world for a reason. He said “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it to the full”. JOHN 10:10.
He came to give us a higher life than the ordinary. Confession: “There is a higher life in Christ”.
A Higher Life means that you have the advantage; it means that your life is improved.
Jesus brought us a life with purpose, power and plenty; a life of purpose, power and plenty.
A Life of Purpose
Pastor said: “I do not live an empty life, I have a purpose for living, I have power to fulfill it and plenty to go with it”.
PURPOSE: purpose means intent, your reason for being.
There is a reason for your coming! So, why are you here? Why were you born? Why did you come? What is your reason for your existence? Is there something you live for? What defines your life? Are you defined by your job? Or your business? Your family name or by your looks? Is that all you are? Think about it. Don’t define yourself by your job. Life can be better than that! Isn’t there a divine purpose for your life? You’re not a repetition, you’re not a copy.
Confession: “There is more to my life than the ordinary” (twice).
What did Jesus do that was never done before? What made Jesus so different?
He chose to lay down His life, to die in place of the sheep, because He loved them. Everything He did was for us. JOHN 18:37. Jesus came to bare witness of the truth. What is the truth? For God so loved the world………. JOHN 3:16.
Something beautiful about Jesus; He knew why He was born, He knew His purpose. He knew why He came; He emphasized and took advantage of it. He spoke of it. He was so clear about His purpose. He knew why He was born. So why were you born?
Moses’ purpose was to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt. EXODUS 3:3. He knew it and he was clear about it.
What about Abraham? God called him and told that through him all the nations of the world would be blessed. He was to come forth with the Messiah; the Seed that would bless the whole world. John the Baptist had a purpose; which was to show Israel the Messiah that was to come – he was to make Jesus known to Israel.
Saul of Tarsus (Paul the Apostle) had a purpose. ACTS 26:14 – 18. He said “necessity is laid on me; woe is me if I preach not the gospel……” i.e. I was born for it.
To live without a purpose is to live a wasted life. Your purpose must be clearly defined so as to know whether or not you have fulfilled your purpose. Life becomes exciting the day you find out why you were born.
Until you have a personal encounter with Jesus, your life doesn’t really begin. Abraham discovered his purpose when God called him. Moses also discovered his purpose when met with Jehovah. Until a man encounters God, his reason for living is not clear.
IN CONCLUSION:
God has given us a user’s manual so we can understand how to handle life. The Bible is our manual for living. Use it and chart your course in life. You can be so full of God’s word that it begins to ooze out of you with the glory of God. This is the fulfillment of God’s word in your life.
Nobody was born for himself. So you cannot live for yourself. There is a special purpose for your life. Destiny is calling. God wants to do something special and significant in your life. This 2008 is a special year for you. This time is a special time of blessing. The Spirit of God is introducing something special into your life this year 2008. The Spirit of God will locate you with that which He has planned specially for you. Amen.
